Marisa Thomas is the new Mrs. Global America US 2010. She was crowned by Laurel Shaler, Mrs. Global America US 2009 on Friday, June 12th in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina at the Landmark Resort. Thomas represented the state of Florida and her national platforms are on health awareness and adolescent mentoring.
Marisa, 33, is a medical office systems specialist as well as an avid volunteer of several organizational programs. She and her husband, Eric, of ten years are founders of A Healthier Life Foundation - a non-profit public service charity dedicated to empowering the lives of individuals through advocacy and outreach. As an adopted child herself, Mrs. Thomas' past experience dealing with homelessness, obesity, depression and abuse is paving the way to voice serious issues such as social awareness, youth development and health education in today's society. Thomas' personal dynamic story of losing 102 pounds the natural way within two and a half years has empowered countless individuals and gained honorable recognition for her accomplishments by being named Women of the Month in September, 2009.
During her reign as Mrs. Global America US 2010 Marisa is honored to be the spokesmodel for The National Healthy Life Walk 2010 Event as well as a Community Ambassador for Big Brothers Big Sisters of NEFL. In addition, she has been seen on WJXT Channel 4 Morning Show, WTCE Fort Pierce TBN Praise The Lord TV Program, The Positive Living Network Blog Talk Radio, Baptist Health Care Connection, PageantCenter.com, Turn for the Judges, Twitter, Facebook and Blogspot. Driven by her personal motto, “Compassion reaches the heart…and empowers the person within”, Marisa hopes that her sincere passion of motivating others will challenge them to be successful in living out their destined purpose in life. Amazingly, this was her first time competing in a national pageant as earlier on this year she also held the titles of Mrs. Florida Global US 2009 and Mrs. Jacksonville US 2009.
